I finish my pens and most other small turnings with spray lacquer. I built this spray booth to try and control the over spray, make it easier to handle the items while spraying and give them a dust free environment to dry in.
You can click on any of the images to see a larger version. This is the process I use for building an end grain cutting board like the one below. I made this using maple and cherry. I started with 2 pieces of maple and 2 pieces of cherry. Each piece was 3″ x 30″ and approximately 3/4″ thick. You can use thicker boards if that is |
