A couple of months ago a demonstration at my woodturning club prompted me to start experimenting with dyes. Dyeing and coloring is one of those subjects that can be pretty intimidating. There are so many colors out there where do you start? Well, my first step was to buy myself a color wheel.

The demonstration was an all day demo on Saturday and the hands on session, with six of the club members was on Sunday. To see some I’ve been wanting to try some different embellishment techniques, one of which was chatter work. However I kept on balking at the price of a new chatter tool. I decided to make my own.
