Here is a neat video of a wooden mast being turned for the reproduction vessel of Columbus Nina. The mast is being turned by The Spar Shop. From their site: The Spar Shop at the Historical Seaport custom-builds wooden masts, yards, booms, and gaffs for large sailboats, yachts, and sailing ships, as well “Seggy” is a video by Malcolm Tibbetts. It shows the making of a segmented vessel. More than that it is also a story of hope and persistence. The segmented vessel was sold on eBay to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
